What's inside

Not another course. A trainer for daily life

Built for people who moved to Serbia — or are about to — and need the language this month, not some day.

🗺️

A path from zero

Units you take day by day: from your first zdravo to a conversation in a kafana, at the market and at the immigration office.

🗣️

Street Serbian

Brate, ajde, bre, mrak. The words in every real conversation and no textbook — because understanding them comes before speaking.

💬

Boss dialogues

The landlord texts about the boiler, the waiter takes your order, the taxi driver chats the whole way. Scenes, not drills.

🎮

A game every day

Serbian Wordle, speed rounds, word puzzles. Repetition that does not feel like homework.

🔤

Cyrillic and Latin

Both alphabets from day one, one tap apart. Serbia uses both, and you will read every sign either way.

🔊

Real audio

Ekavian and everyday Belgrade speech — how people talk on the street, not how a 1980s textbook says they should.

🗣️ The AJDE angle

The Serbian you hear is not the Serbian in books

Every real conversation runs on words no course teaches you. AJDE puts them in their own lessons, so a normal exchange on the street stops sounding like a foreign language.

brate
literally: brother
means — mate, dude — in every other sentence
ajde
literally: let's go
means — come on / okay / bye
bre
no translation at all
means — pure emphasis, the most Serbian word there is
mrak
literally: darkness
means — awesome, brilliant
How it works

Three steps and you are talking

01

Pick a node on the path

Words, a grammar case, a dialogue or a game — all in five-minute steps.

02

Practise it live

Build phrases, listen, answer the waiter and the landlord. Get it wrong and you get told why.

03

Keep what you learned

Games and spaced repetition bring words back until they stop slipping away.

Questions

The short answers

Do I need to know anything first?+

No. It starts with the alphabet and the first words, even if you have never seen Serbian before.

How much time per day?+

Five to ten minutes. The lesson is short and the games and repetition do the rest for you.

Is this the Serbian of Serbia?+

Yes — Ekavian and everyday Belgrade speech, the way people talk on the street rather than the literary variant.

Cyrillic or Latin?+

Both. One tap switches the script, and you get used to reading any sign or menu.

Will this help with Croatian or Bosnian?+

Largely yes — the languages are mutually intelligible. AJDE teaches the Serbian of Serbia, including where it differs.

How is it different from Duolingo?+

AJDE is built around living in Serbia: the kafana, the market, the immigration office, the doctor. Real errands rather than abstract sentences.

Is there an Android version?+

Yes. AJDE is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
